Overview
Are you a commercially driven Business Development professional who thrives in industrial and technical product environments? Do you enjoy identifying & developing new customers and applications, and turning data into strategic growth?
Envirospheres Pty Ltd, a respected Australian manufacturer and exporter of specialised industrial materials, is seeking a Business Development Manager – ANZ to lead and integrate its sales and market development strategy. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a high-impact role focused on revenue growth, distributor performance, and long-term market positioning.
As Business Development Manager, you will take ownership of the full sales and marketing function, working closely with production, shipping, and accounts to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction across domestic and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute the sales and marketing strategy, including pricing, branding, product positioning, distribution channels, and customer engagement.
* Prepare and manage the annual sales and marketing budget, reporting monthly performance and insights to the CEO and directors.
* Drive strategic market positioning through analysis, planning, and performance tracking.
Customer & Distributor Management
* Build and strengthen relationships with direct customers and national and international distributors.
* Support and monitor distributor performance through clear targets, training, and commercial alignment.
* Identify and establish new distributor partnerships where required to expand reach and capability.
* Leverage Salesforce CRM and internal systems to manage pipelines, track leads, and ensure disciplined follow-up.
* Develop sales dashboards and performance metrics to support data-driven decision-making.
* Provide actionable commercial insights to improve revenue and margin outcomes.
Market & Product Development
* Identify emerging markets and new product applications with strong growth potential.
* Lead market analysis and demand forecasting initiatives.
* Contribute to product development insights and sales tool enhancement.
Operational Integration
* Work closely with the production, sales logistics, and admin teams to ensure delivery performance aligns with customer expectations.
* Take ownership of customer experience and brand reputation in market.
The First 3–6 Months
* Build strong product knowledge and develop familiarity with customers, distributors, and applications.
* Accompany the CEO on initial customer and distributor visits before transitioning to full relationship ownership.
* Take responsibility for the sales and marketing function and drive achievement of revenue and gross margin targets.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven success in B2B sales within industrial raw materials, manufacturing, or technical product environments.
* Experience managing distributor and channel networks.
* Strong commercial acumen with a data-led approach to performance management.
* Hands-on CRM experience (Salesforce or similar).
* A relationship-driven leader who enjoys working cross-functionally and contributing at executive level.
* Ideally, your commercial technical sales background will be supported by relevant tertiary qualifications in chemistry, materials science or a related scientific discipline.
