A.B. Paterson College is seeking an inspiring and experienced educator to step into the role of Acting Assistant Head of Faculty – The Arts. This acting leadership appointment will run from Term 2 2026 until the end of Term 2 2027 and offers an opportunity to assist in the day‐to‐day leadership and smooth functioning of our vibrant Arts Faculty.
We are seeking a committed educational leader who demonstrates deep subject expertise, exceptional pedagogical practice, and a passion for fostering creativity across Visual Art, Drama, Music, and related disciplines. The successful applicant will support the Head of Faculty in driving curriculum excellence, enhancing staff capability, and cultivating a dynamic, student‐centred learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Head of Faculty – The Arts in the effective leadership, coordination, and day‐to‐day management of the Faculty
* Oversee and contribute to Arts events, performances, exhibitions, and co‐curricular programs.
* Contribute to the planning and delivery of faculty events, performances, exhibitions, and co‐curricular Arts initiatives that enrich the cultural life of the College.
* Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum‐aligned lessons that foster creativity, artistic expression, and critical thinking across relevant year levels.
* Create a positive, inclusive, and aspirational learning environment using proactive and restorative behaviour strategies.
