About the role
We're on the lookout for Registered Nurses to join our versatile casual bank, ready to contribute their expertise across a spectrum of healthcare environments. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work within our dynamic Care Communities, Sub-Acute, and Acute Services, encompassing specialised areas such as Maternity, Operating Suite, Special Care Nursery, Paediatrics, Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit/Critical Care Unit.
Managed by our Central Allocations Unit, which operates seven days a week, our casual bank offers flexibility and efficiency through an electronic rostering system. Shift assignments are tailored to match your availabilities, communicated via text or phone call. Upholding your position within our Central Allocations Unit requires a commitment of two shifts per fortnight.
Living in the Ballarat region is essential due to the potential for short-notice shifts. To be considered, applicants must provide references from two direct managers/supervisors, including their current employer. Key Responsibilities
* Maintaining accurate availability in our electronic rostering system and accepting shifts based on availability
* Caring for a diverse range of patients and residents in varied care settings
* Ability and willingness to provide high quality, direct care within scope of practice
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive, patient focussed outcomes
* Documentation and updating of care plans / patient records
* Provide accurate and timely communication with residents, visitors and staff at all levels within Grampians Health
* Participate in annual performance reviews
* Commitment to ongoing mandatory education
Skills and experience
* Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and hold a current Practicing Certificate
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain if working in Aged Care
* Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain
* Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills, commensurate with experience
* Ability to function within a team

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020 - 2024. The classification is Registered Nurse Grade 2 (YP2 - YP9) which ranges from $34.17 - $48.26 per hour.
All appointments are subject to a satisfactory police records check, immunisation clearance and Working with Children check and/or NDIS Worker Screening Check.
All employees must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required, which at a minimum is a surgical mask. Additional PPE requirements are role-dependent.
