Seeking a Nurse Unit Manager to provide leadership to the Neonatal Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (NPICU).

The Team:

Launceston General Hospital is Tasmania's second largest teaching hospital, based in scenic surroundings with easy access to hiking, cycling, and nature exploration. The city is filled with parks and gardens and was voted the UNESCO City of Gastronomy.

Women's and Children's Servies provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care for approximately 1600 births per year, including low, moderate, and high complexity mothers and babies, and has capacity to manage all unexpected pregnancy and neonatal emergencies.

Ward 4N is a Level 5 Special Care Nursery providing care for neonates greater than or equal to 32 weeks' gestation, including neonates with risk factors and/or complex needs. Funded for 9 cots with capacity to flex up to 12 cots when required.

Women's and Childrens Services offers regular, quality Clinical Supervision for all nurses and midwives and supports ongoing professional development. We celebrate achievements and a culture built on the CARE values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.

The Role:

- Provides leadership and co-ordination of neonatal care within the Neonatal Services in accordance with best practice principles and within a collaborative multidisciplinary framework.
- Provides leadership in contemporary nursing practice and promotes an environment conducive to innovation and change.
- Manages the financial, physical and human resources of Neonatal Services to achieve agreed service outcomes within the allocate budget.
- Monitors, manages and reports on the Neonatal Service Key Performance Indicators.
- Monitors and supports staff performance and professional development.
- Actively participates in and contributes to the organisations Quality and Safety and Work Health and Safety processes.
- Can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in the Statement of Duties, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying jobs at this classification.

You will need:

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in management and leadership, with the ability to promote a shared vision and purpose to ensure optional patient and family outcomes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in contemporary nursing management practice, including clinical governance, clinical risk management, evidence-based practice, clinical standards, ethics and legislation.
- Relevant post graduate qualifications e.g., Neonatal Nursing, Management and Leadership.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join us.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary:

$130,203 to $136,295 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
