Tasmanian Independent Retailers (TIR) is a retailer-owned co-operative established in 1947, operating under IGA Tasmania and Island Fresh Produce (IFP). IFP manages the distribution of fresh fruit and vegetables to our retailers and food service customers. TIR supports members under the IGA banner with supplier trading terms, advertising, equipment, product ranging, pricing, promotions, and store development.
About the role
We're seeking an Entry Level IT & Data Analyst. In this role you can kick-start your IT career while working across a diverse range of technology areas.
This role provides hands-on experience across IT support, data integrity, POS systems, Power BI reporting, automation, scripting, and business applications. You will work with a supportive team and gain exposure to retail systems, business data, and emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities
* IT Support
* Provide first level IT support to our corporate office and store network
* Assist with hardware setup, software installation and troubleshooting
* Support POS systems in collaboration with vendors
* Assist with networks, backups, cybersecurity, and system maintenance
* Data and Reporting
* Support merchandising and POS data integrity
* Assist with reporting, analytics, and data validation
* Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
* Support Power Apps and other low-code tools
* Perform routine database and data quality checks
* Automation & Insights
* Assist with business automation initiatives
* Write and maintain simple PowerShell scripts
* Support small automation tasks or workflows using Python
* Contribute to system and process optimisation
* Projects
* Participate in IT and data-related projects
* Assist with technology rollouts and upgrades
* Explore and learn new systems and emerging technologies
What you\'ll bring
* Strong interest in both IT support and data analytics
* Good communication skills and confidence dealing with all user levels
* Basic understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and networking
* Interest or emerging skills in:
o SQL
o Power BI
o Power Apps
o Python
o PowerShell scripting
* Ability to manage tasks, follow processes, and work well in a team
Requirements
* Diploma or Bachelor's degree in IT
* Permanent Australian resident or citizen with full working rights
* Current Tasmanian Driver's License
* Ability to travel statewide occasionally
