1 week ago Be among the first 25 applicantsGet AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.Direct message the job poster from Recruitment HouseConnecting Awesomely Talented People with Amazing Companies | Driving Innovation in Recruitment Solutions | 0416 215 314Exciting & Challenging Senior Linux Systems Engineer OpportunityA Global Company Making a DifferenceTech Stack: Linux - AWS - PostgreSQL - MariaDB - Git- Docker - Python - CloudWatch - CI/CDHybrid with an Attractive Remuneration Package (fully remote from Sydney available)The OpportunityThis is an exciting opportunity for you to make a difference in an organisation on a mission to educate the community about how technology can make a valuable difference to future-proof how we learn in the Digital Age.The RoleWorking with a team of talented, like-minded people, you'll love the quality and complexity of this hybrid Linux Infrastructure CloudOps Engineer role, combining building and developing solutions to improve the platform, plus supporting and maintaining a live system, in a production environment, whilst driving continuous improvements in a fully committed AGILE environment.The ResponsibilitiesLinux systems administration in a large-scale production environment across BAU and operational tasksMaintain, improve and modernize a highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS.Optimize system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement proactive monitoring solutions.Automate infrastructure deployments and operational tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of products.Contribute to the continuous improvement of infrastructure and operational processesThe RequirementsA proven track record of 5+ years managing large-scale production systems.At least 3+ years of experience developing solutions and improvements for large-scale systems.Experience working in a global, distributed team environment.Cloud OperationsAt least 5 + years in Advanced Linux skills including iptables, systems, logging, application management, diagnosis, sysctl tweaking, systems monitoring, BAU operational support etc.Strong experience with AWS services including EC2, ALB/NLB, VPCs, IAM, RDS, ECS, Route53, and CloudFront.Experience maintaining large-scale legacy systems and performing migrations.Experience with large-scale databases and database administration, ideally MariaDB & PostgreSQL on Amazon RDSExperienced with metrics/monitoring systems, ideally Datadog and CloudWatch.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to various audiences.Good proficiency in Python for scripting and automation tasks.2 years development expertise in at least one programming language beyond scripting, ideally PHP.Proficiency in POSIX shell scripting, including skills in using awk, sed, grep, etc.Highly experienced with Docker and containerised applications and systemsSome experience using GitHub Actions and WorkflowsFamiliarity with Agile methodologies, ideally SCRUM using SAFe.Extremely beneficialB.Sc or M.Sc degree in I.T. or Computer Science or similarStrong networking background, including understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocolsExperience in optimising database performance and resolving performance issues.Why you?This is an exciting opportunity for you to be part of a global company's technological innovation, using AI to accelerate their mission and vision at an enterprise scale!
