Library Coordinator Role Overview
The Library Coordinator will be responsible for managing the school library, including organizing book fairs and facilitating student and teacher borrowing. This role will also involve disseminating library information to staff and maintaining a welcoming learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate Book Fairs and promote literacy through engaging book club events
* Process student and teacher borrowing requests and oversee bulk loans
* Communicate library policies and procedures to staff members
* Enforce strict borrowing protocols for both students and teachers
* Purchase library resources under the guidance of the Principal
* Attend relevant conferences and meetings to stay updated on best practices
* Maintain the library as an inviting space for learners by implementing aesthetic and functional design principles
* Shelve and circulate library resources, cover books, and perform routine maintenance tasks
* Cull outdated or redundant resources in collaboration with the Principal
* Assist staff members in locating specific library resources
* Support students in finding relevant library materials
* Develop and maintain an inventory of technology resources within the library
* Organize volunteer working bees to support library operations when necessary
* Create visually appealing displays in the library to showcase various resources
