Adaptations Technician (12 month Fixed Term Contract)
We are looking for a qualified adaptations technician to install and adapt assistive equipment in the homes of NHS service users in Northamptonshire.
Responsibilities
* Install and adapt internal and external grab rails, galvanized handrails, banister rails and other specialist equipment.
* Carry out minor home repairs, small slab and brickwork alterations, and build external timber‐framed and composite decking ramps and half‐steps.
* Liaise with clients to discuss works and recommend rail heights.
* Ensure all works are completed promptly with minimum disturbance to clients.
* Discuss pre‐work surveys with the coordinator; ensure appointments are manageable in terms of time and required skills.
Requirements
* Experience in a comparable environment.
* Proficiency with hand tools and ability to complete tasks independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication and empathetic approach with service users.
* Strong attention to detail, speed and efficiency.
* General experience in carpentry; experience in minor adaptation works is desirable.
* Knowledge of building regulations and safe systems of work.
* Full UK driving licence held for at least 2 years.
Remuneration & Benefits
* £26,436.80 per annum.
* 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30‐5:00.
