Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Insolvency and Restructuring practice in Brisbane. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day operational aspects of formal insolvency appointments, assisting with clear and professional communication with clients and stakeholders, supporting the team on informal advisory engagements, and compiling financial information.
Key Responsibilities:
* Engagement Management: Managing trade-ons, liquidations, receiverships, administrations, receipts/payments, and asset management.
* Stakeholder Communication: Assisting with clear and professional written and verbal communication with clients, creditors, lawyers, and other stakeholders.
* Advisory Support: Supporting the team on informal advisory engagements, such as independent business reviews and turnaround assignments.
* Analysis & Reporting: Compiling financial information, conducting analysis, drawing conclusions, and assisting with report preparation.
* Investigations: Assisting with investigations into antecedent transactions and insolvent trading, ensuring compliance and timely reporting of any contraventions.
* Relationship Building: Developing professional relationships with clients and stakeholders, representing our capabilities.
Requirements:
* Experience: 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally with exposure to insolvency, restructuring, or forensic accounting.
* Qualifications: A relevant bachelor's degree (Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or similar).
* Professional Certification: CA or CPA qualified, or actively working towards completion (support provided).
* Technical Aptitude: A foundational understanding of accounting principles and a strong interest in insolvency legislation and practice.
* Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities for effective interaction with team members and external parties.
* Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and meticulousness, essential for sensitive financial work.
* Work Ethic: Proactive, adaptable, eager to learn, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a changing environment.
