What You'll Do
Provide culturally sensitive social work support to refugee patients and their families
Collaborate with medical teams to ensure holistic care approaches
Connect clients with essential community resources and services
Advocate for patient needs within healthcare settings
Develop care plans that consider cultural, social, and economic factors
Support patients navigating complex healthcare systems
What We're Looking For
Degree in Social Work with current registration
Experience working with culturally diverse communities
Understanding of refugee and asylum seeker experiences
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
Commitment to social justice and human rights principles
Details of Appointment
Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you are able to join our team.
Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary
$110,425 to $121,907 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of ****
Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
Salary Packaging
You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility
Hold, or be eligible for, full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers
Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration

Post Graduate qualification, or progression toward post graduate qualifications relevant to the position.
