Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Advocacy
Develop and execute APGA's long‑term advocacy strategy, ensuring alignment with industry goals and government energy transition frameworks.
Shape and influence national and state energy policies by positioning APGA as a key advisor to policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders.
Provide strategic advice to the CEO and Board on policy risks, emerging trends, and advocacy opportunities.
Oversee the development and execution of high‑impact advocacy campaigns, including engagement with government, media, and industry stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement
Represent APGA at ministerial meetings, high‑level regulatory discussions, parliamentary inquiries, and industry forums.
Build and strengthen relationships with government agencies, regulators, peak industry bodies, and key decision‑makers.
Act as a spokesperson for APGA in media, industry events, and public engagements.
Lead and coordinate industry alliances to amplify APGA's advocacy efforts and influence regulatory outcomes.
Policy Leadership and Research
Direct the development of evidence‑based policy positions that reinforce the strategic value of gas infrastructure.
Oversee the production of high‑quality policy submissions, reports, and economic analyses to support APGA's advocacy efforts.
Identify and address regulatory barriers and policy risks that impact gas transmission and infrastructure investment.
Who we are looking for
Experience and Knowledge
Leadership experience in policy, advocacy, or regulatory affairs at a senior level.
Demonstrated success in shaping government policy and regulatory outcomes through strategic engagement.
Deep understanding of Australia's energy market, regulatory landscape, and decarbonisation policies.
Strong media engagement experience, with a track record of influencing public discourse on policy issues.
Ability to drive impactful advocacy campaigns, using research, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communications.
