Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners eligible for registration in New South Wales for the above position within the Department of General Surgery, Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD).
Applicants should be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and/or hold other specialist recognition as provided for in the Visiting Medical Officer Determination.
This position is to fulfill a locum pool from 1 August 2025 to 1 February 2026.
Central Coast comprises the twin areas of Gosford and Wyong, located between Sydney and Newcastle, with an expected population growth from approximately 300,000 to 450,000 by 2030. The Local Health District maintains strong connections with Royal North Shore Hospital and the University of Newcastle.
This position involves obligations to Gosford Hospital under Sessional arrangements and Wyong Hospital under Fee for Service arrangements. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Visiting Medical Officer Determination.

* Medical Practitioner registered or eligible for registration in Australia, including an unrestricted or 19AB exempted provider number.
* Recognised specialist qualifications, such as Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or equivalent.
* Relevant experience practicing as a Senior Medical Practitioner in General Surgery.
* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Willingness and ability to lead and supervise medical and surgical trainees, residents, and students; experience in teaching management of deteriorating patients is advantageous.
* Interest in quality improvement methodologies.
