About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to play a key role in supporting both open pit and underground operations. The successful candidate will ensure the integrity of pit slopes, waste rock dumps, tailings and water storage facilities. They will collaborate with technical and operational teams to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions that maximise resource recovery and support long-term planning.
The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will lead inspections, contribute to ground control strategies and manage geotechnical projects. This is an excellent opportunity to influence outcomes across multiple departments while striving for continuous improvement.
The position involves working on an 8:6 roster with 12-hour days (Residential to Kalgoorlie, or FIFO from Perth only).
Requirements
* A tertiary qualification in Mining, Geoscience, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on Geomechanics.
* Minimum 7 years' geotechnical experience.
* Proven supervisory experience in operations, technical services, or project management.
* A strong understanding of safety systems, geotechnical controls, and open pit operations.
* Solid knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements.
* Advanced user of geotechnical modelling and CAD software.
