Your New Role

The classroom teacher is the major in-school influence on student achievement and plays the key role of facilitating effective learning and teaching. The first function of the classroom teacher is to be an effective member of a cooperative team of colleagues who work to put student learning and wellbeing first.

Essential Criteria

- An understanding of and commitment to the ideals of Catholic Education.
- Demonstrated experience as a classroom practitioner
- Qualified to teach Stage 4 to 6 TAS and/or Creative Arts
- Appropriate qualifications.
- A demonstrated capacity to align practice with a whole-school Positive Behaviour for Learning model of student support.
- An appropriate mix of pedagogical, content, and technological knowledge.
- An informed understanding of inclusive, learner-centred pedagogy.
- An ability to work as part of a team and contribute positively to staff professional culture.
- Willingness to participate in staff professional development in partnership with the College.
- Willingness to contribute to the KLA team in their understanding of relevant curriculum and its application to the College.
- Willingness to take on co-curricular activities.
- Capacity to teach Religious Education (RE) is an advantage.
- Accreditation for Teachers in a Catholic School (Category B, Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools, Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga) or working towards Accreditation.
