ABOUT THE JOB

The Purchasing & Supplier Manager (Head of Department) is responsible for leading our Procurement function across Edunet and SolutionOne—ensuring it delivers strong commercial outcomes while supporting the people and teams who rely on it every day.

At its core, this role is about making sure our customers—schools, education partners, and business clients—can count on us to deliver what they need, when they need it. You'll build genuine, trusted relationships with suppliers and distribution partners, working together to keep things running smoothly and reliably.

You'll help ensure the right products are available at the right time, balancing cost, quality, and dependability. From ordering through to fulfilment, you'll take ownership of the process and look for ways to make it simpler, more efficient, and easier for everyone involved.

You'll also oversee our program portals, making sure they support our customer commitments and provide a seamless experience for all stakeholders.

Drawing on Edunet's position as a specialist in education technology, this role connects procurement with the broader business. You'll support the Sales team with clear, accurate stock insights, help protect margins, and ensure we consistently deliver on our promises to customers.

Working closely with Sales, Finance, Warehouse, and Service teams, you'll oversee forecasting, stock management, ordering systems, and data integrity—keeping everything aligned and running smoothly behind the scenes.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leading the Purchasing Function

Provide clear direction and support to the Purchasing team, helping connect their work to the broader goals of the business. Build practical, scalable ways of working, and create an environment where people take ownership, collaborate openly, and continuously improve. Coach and develop team members to help them grow and succeed.

Vendor & Distribution Relationships

Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with suppliers and distributors. Act as the key escalation point when needed, work collaboratively to resolve issues, and negotiate outcomes that benefit both the business and our partners.

Stock Level Management

Work closely with key stakeholders to plan and manage stock levels. Stay ahead of demand, identify risks early, and use data and insights to improve availability, reduce costs, and keep things running efficiently.

Ordering & Data Integrity

Ensure ordering is accurate, timely, and aligned with business needs. Maintain high standards of data integrity across systems, and continuously improve how procurement workflows operate.

Fulfilment & Logistics

Keep communication clear and proactive—especially when it comes to backorders and delivery timelines. Work closely with Warehouse and Service teams to resolve issues quickly and minimise customer impact.

Portal Management

Oversee customer portal programs from start to finish, ensuring orders are processed, fulfilled, and closed out smoothly. Maintain a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and customer experience.

Service Department Support

Support the Service team with warranty processing and replacement procurement, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and without disruption.

Warehouse Coordination

Partner with the Warehouse team to keep stock flowing smoothly. Assist with stocktakes and work with Finance to ensure inventory is accurate and well managed.

Team Management

Lead offshore support resources with clear expectations and strong communication. Maintain clear processes, provide regular feedback, and ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.

Commercial Outcomes

Make smart, commercially sound decisions that balance cost, margin, and service. Identify opportunities for savings and improvement, and provide insights that help guide business decisions.
