The Community and City Services Division puts people, families and community at the forefront of our work. The Health Promotion and Policy Team works with people across the organisation and community to improve public health and well-being by creating opportunities, building capacity, planning, educating and conducting research.
The Health Promotion and Policy Manager is a pivotal figure within the Community Wellbeing Leadership Team, leading policy development and strategic direction to enhance community health. They also cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders and employ critical thinking to influence positive outcomes for the branch.
The Health Promotion and Policy Manager will lead, and develop a team and deliver on the following;
- Identifying and anticipating emerging issues in the fields of public health, environmental health and food, and devising management solutions to ensure effective response and the maintenance of Council's leadership reputation.
- Coordination of the implementation and evaluation of key strategic initiatives in the areas of food, youth, alcohol and other drugs, smoke free, mental health, and other emerging needs.
- Supporting the preparation of briefing papers, progress reports, business cases and presentations as required and that meet corporate standards.
- Supporting the development of new projects and initiatives, and the review and modification of existing programs that seek to improve community health and wellbeing.
- Efficiently and effectively managing the team budget while optimizing financial resources for maximum return on investment
