Job Opportunity: Community Services Leader
We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to head our Community Services portfolio.
About the Role:
* You will lead one of Council's most complex and influential portfolios during a period of economic transition, driving growth, engagement, and resilience in Mount Isa City.
* You will provide executive oversight across a broad directorate, balancing long-term priorities with high-profile operational responsibilities.
Main Responsibilities Include:
* Achieve delivery excellence for Council's Economic Development Strategy through diversification, industry attraction, and sustainability initiatives;
* Foster collaborative relationships with State and Commonwealth governments, stakeholders, and funding partners;
* Oversee community services including youth facilities; libraries; events management; aquatic centers & major civic venues. Additionally provide oversight on regulatory functions (e.g., animal control) & compliance activities (environmental health). Manage logistical assets like waste/recycling networks. Ensure sustainable implementation as part of overall corporate plans aligned closely together!
