As part of this growth, we are seeking a Senior Mobile Plant Mechanic to strengthen our local team — a role suited to a tradesperson who brings strong technical capability, leadership presence, and pride in delivering high-quality outcomes.

About the Role
This position will see you take a leading role in the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of diesel-powered mobile plant, heavy equipment, and dewatering pump systems across workshop and field environments.
You will be trusted to work autonomously, manage complex fault-finding, and provide guidance to junior team members while contributing to reliability improvements and strong client outcomes.
Key responsibilities.
* Perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of mobile plant, hydraulic systems, engines, and pump assets
* Execute planned servicing, breakdown response, and field support activities
* Lead complex troubleshooting and deliver effective, timely repair solutions
* Mentor apprentices and junior mechanics, supporting capability development within the team
* Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate equipment status to supervisors and clients
* Uphold high standards of safety, quality, and compliance across workshop and site work
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reliability, efficiency, and downtime reduction
* Respond to critical equipment failures with professionalism and technical confidence
About you
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Qualifications & Experience
* Trade qualification in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent (Certificate III or higher)
* High-Risk Work Licences – LF & DG
* MR / HR Driver's Licence
* Telehandler and Overhead Crane Licences
* Minimum 3–5 years' experience in mobile plant or heavy machinery maintenance, preferably in mining
* Hands-on experience with diesel-driven pumps, hydraulic systems, and mobile plant equipment
* Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
* Attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety
Highly Advantageous:
* Experience leading or mentoring team members
* Mobile plant tickets (Excavator, Loader)
* Exposure to complex engines, pump systems, and advanced troubleshooting
