About the Role

Tronox is currently searching for an experienced Learning and Development Lead, who will take charge of identifying training needs within Tronox, collaborating with business managers to develop learning and development (L&D) strategies that align with the company's requirements.

Supporting a team of 7 L&D professionals, this is a full time, 12-month maternity cover working a compressed 38-hour week, in a 9-day fortnight. Enjoy a 3-day weekend, every second week!

You will be supporting our pigment operations located in Kwinana, Perth (3 - 2 per week) and Bunbury (2 days per week), pick the site that best suits you. Ideal role for someone that likes to travel and have flexibility with work hours.

Reporting into the HR Director the Lead will act as a curator and facilitator of L&D activities, overseeing the assessment of site capabilities, identifying competency gaps, and working proactively with managers to address them. This role will also be responsible for planning and organising L&D programs, both at a global and local level, while managing the training budget and ensuring cost control.

Responsibilities include, but is not limited to:

L&D Strategy & Alignment

* Develops and maintains a cohesive L&D strategy aligned with business priorities.

* Ensures consistency in leadership development, career growth, and capability-building frameworks.

* Collaborates with HR and business leaders to align learning with talent, culture, and performance goals.

Learning Technology & Infrastructure Oversight

* Oversees LMS governance and data integrity for local region.

* Works as an active member of the L&D Global group to identify, implement and ensure the effective use of technology solutions to support learning & development across the business, in line with Global L&D Standards.

Program Design & Portfolio Management

* Leads the design and deployment of curricula, learning materials and learning and development programs aligned to the skills and competence frameworks and the requirements of the local workforce plan.

* Ensures that all programs are inclusive and aligned to employee learning requirements, and local site requirements.

Data, Analytics & Reporting

* Oversees learning analytics and dashboards to measure impact and engagement.

* Uses insights to inform strategy, improve programs, and report to stakeholders.

Team Leadership & Development

* Sets clear goals, priorities, and development plans for the local L&D team.

* Fosters collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

* Influence managers, team leaders and employees in relation to learning strategies to deliver business results.

* Enhance the quality of learning frameworks and competencies and learning approaches.

* Makes a positive contribution as a member of the L&D team and broader HR Team.

* Ensures L&D processes are aligned to HR & SHEQ processes.

Global Collaboration & Enablement

* Activ member of L&D Global Group, ensuring clear alignment between global strategy and local execution.

* Facilitates knowledge sharing and best practice exchange across geographies.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

* Communicates L&D strategy, priorities, and updates to local sites.

* Builds strong relationships with local HR Leadership Team and Round Tables.

* Develops appropriate learning channels and partnerships to support learning and development.

* Provides coaching support to local leadership.

Compliance & Risk Management

* Ensures local learning programs meet legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. Oversees mandatory training and audit readiness.

Continuous Improvement

* Monitors, analyses and proactively responds to latest trends and issues related to learning and development.

* Prepares training budget, seeks and obtains funding approval, and controls costs against budget.

About You

* 5–7 years of leadership experience, with a proven ability to guide and develop teams

* 10+ years’ experience in Learning & Development and/or Training Coordination

* Strong understanding of strategic planning, people development strategies, technical training compliance, and broader people & culture principles

* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

* Strong Project Management Skills

* Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

* Working knowledge of change management practices

* Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS); familiarity with SuccessFactors is highly advantageous
