Specialist Finance Business Partner (WAIO Capital & Functions Team)

About The Role The Specialist Finance Business Partner will serve as a key contact for budgeting and forecasting for the WAIO Capital & Functions Team, providing financial insight, analysis and recommendations to drive operational efficiency.
Key Accountabilities Serve as key contact in the coordination for budgeting/forecasting/loading into PRIME (WFP, Overheads, Work Management and mine plans)
Communicate the Asset objective and context to budget owners by preparing presentations and delivering them to various departments
Coordinate site inputs, ensuring timely and accurate submission into PRIME, validated for completeness and reasonableness
Perform in-depth financial analysis and benchmarking to identify cost gaps and recommend efficiency improvements.

Respond to needs of site stakeholders with ad hoc forecasting, reporting, analysis and testing of strategic hypothesis
Conduct detailed analysis/benchmarks to understand gaps and provide budget owners with sound recommendations on driving operations costs efficiency
Drive process improvements by streamlining finance-related workflows and enhancing data quality, usage, and presentation
Represent and advocate for the Budgeting & Forecasting (B&F) system and serve as subject matter experts for operations
Act as custodians of asset's B&F system health by encouraging team members to raise incidents for anomalies/unexpected performance
Act as point of escalation for other team members when B&F issues are not resolved
Serve as subject matter expert for system knowledge gaps (not responsible for training all users)
Ensure accuracy of key cost drivers (e.g., diesel burn rates, powder factor, labour rates)
Support "System of Cost Control"/cost discipline at operations through site reviews and financial insights during operational performance meetings
Lead month‑end process for their operation, including commentary, posting of ad hoc journals, and coordination with GBS team
Execute Field Leadership activities to improve operational safety and collaborate with stakeholders to improve cost base
Deliver financial acumen training to operations/functions
Act as L3 and L5 approver for WAVO initiatives
Engage capabilities of the entire organization to enable problem solving, alignment, removal of duplication and correct accountability
Ingrain BOS in all activities and foster a values‑driven finance culture, promoting psychological safety, collaboration and well‑being About You Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant) license required
Experience in finance business partnering, providing strategic financial insights and collaborating with operational teams
Experience in mining industry preferred but not required
Ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to deliver value
Ability to create culture of continuous improvement, accountability and delivery of value‑add results
Enthusiastic, confident, motivates others and works autonomously
Good attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and problem‑solve
