This role is a salary Grade 11/12, with the base salary for this role starting at $145,378 - $168,130 base plus superannuation, commensurate with experience.

About the Role
The Associate Director, Asset Management, Assurance plays a key role in the team driving strategic asset management excellence across the State's asset portfolio.
This role is at the leading edge of developing asset management policy change in areas such as prioritisation of infrastructure investment, maintenance and renewal funding, risk management and asset performance analysis.
Working with a team of experts in the field across many government agencies, the role applies and builds on the principles of the ISO 5500X asset management standards to drive more effective decision making across a uniquely complex NSW Government portfolio.
The role is responsible for managing timely and accurate reporting to Cabinet, coordinating assurance reviews in accordance with the Asset Management Assurance Standard, evaluating trends and issues across the asset portfolio, reviewing agency asset management frameworks and capability, assisting with the prioritisation of agency budget proposals and contributing to reports on asset performance.
Key accountabilities of the role include:
* Coordinate and lead assurance activities to review agencies' asset management submissions.
* Contribute to initiatives that drive improvement of agency asset management capabilities such as Asset Management Communities of Practice and other workstreams/committees.
* Collate and develop high quality and independent advice on issues and constraints impacting agencies' Asset Management frameworks and activities.
* Work with a range of agencies to develop new and revised methods and tools that support enhanced asset management outcomes.
* Manage special projects and lead components of reports to Cabinet that relate to the performance of the NSW asset portfolio.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Have a strong working knowledge of the NSW Government Asset Management Policy or the ISO 5500X (or related) standards
* Tertiary qualifications in an infrastructure or strategic asset management-related field or equivalent relevant experience in a similar position.
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the asset management discipline in the context of an infrastructure asset portfolio or government agencies
* Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products, in particular Microsoft Excel.
* Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills to identify issues and develop solutions.
* Excellent report writing, visual presentation design abilities, and verbal communication skills.
Asset management qualifications such as Certified Asset Management Assessor, Certified Associate in Asset Management, Certified Practitioner in Asset Management or a diploma or higher in Asset Management will be highly regarded.
