Support Student Wellbeing and Inclusion
As a School Social Worker, you will provide support to schools to improve the wellbeing and safety of students through evidence-based interventions. You'll deliver quality interventions that improve the wellbeing and safety of students through whole school, whole class, group work and individual supports, to address student behaviour, wellbeing and social emotional concerns that may impact educational outcomes.
You will be working under corporate-based conditions with the ability to travel to remote and regional schools. Travel to remote schools may require travel by four-wheel drive vehicle on unsealed roads or light aircraft and include overnight stays in remote communities of up to four days; training will be provided.
About You
To be successful, you will have:
* A tertiary qualification in social work with full eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
* Knowledge and skills in providing diverse social emotional and wellbeing services appropriate for individual, group and system level intervention for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within defined parameters to provide support to schools on child and adolescent wellbeing and safety issues impacting educational outcomes
* Ability to facilitate and provide professional learning, training and information to educators and leadership teams in collaboration with team members
* Knowledge of current evidence for critical incident response and recovery
* A current Working with Children Notice (Ochre Card) from SAFE NT or ability to obtain
