Senior Electrical Engineer
This office-based opportunity offers the chance to play a key role within a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy supporting major projects across mining, minerals processing, materials handling, power, and renewables. Working as part of an experienced electrical and controls team, you'll lead engineering design from concept through to detailed IFC deliverables, providing technical support across electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for a variety of plant and infrastructure projects.
This role suits an experienced electrical engineer who enjoys hands‑on technical work, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a professional but friendly environment.

Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering
- 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering within multidisciplinary environments, ideally in mining and resources in Australia
- Experience producing detailed electrical designs and calculations, including switchroom design, switchboards, MCCs, LV/HV systems, VSDs, transformers, ATS, lightning protection, earthing systems, underground services, lighting design, and power systems studies
- Proven ability to produce technical documentation, including single line diagrams, schematics, loop diagrams, block diagrams, termination diagrams, instrument hook‑ups, thermal load calculations, cable calculations, cable schedules, datasheets, vendor packs, specifications, functional descriptions, O&M; manuals, reports, and ITPs
- Ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels, including clients
- Experience preparing electrical estimations, MTOs, and tender documentation
Desirable Skills
- Practical experience in construction, commissioning, and operations within bulk materials or minerals processing industries
- Power system modelling experience
- Experience with control system software design, including PLC and SCADA platforms
- Knowledge of industrial communication systems and IP networks
- CAD proficiency
- Exposure to multiple commodities, including gold, copper, lithium, and iron ore
- Experience collaborating across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process control disciplines
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver electrical engineering designs from concept to IFC deliverables
- Prepare and review technical documentation for electrical and instrumentation systems
- Provide engineering guidance to junior engineers and designers
- Support multidisciplinary collaboration to develop integrated plant and infrastructure designsConduct site visits as required for commissioning, inspections, or client meetings
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with relevant standards and regulations
- Assist with estimation, tender preparation, and design deliverables for project approvals
- Mentor team members and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards
