The Assistant Director Mergers will lead a range of work involving:
* Analyzing facts and data to draw evidence-based conclusions on competition issues arising from mergers and presenting that analysis in recommendations to senior managers.
* Managing consultation with key stakeholders, including market participants and Australian government agencies.
* Strategic planning and engaging with risk.
* Supervising and developing staff, providing effective leadership and development to a team of skilled professionals.
* Working closely with other parts of the organization and leading productive working relationships with internal lawyers & economists.
About You: To succeed in this role, you may have experience working within an economic context, professional experience within a legal context, proficiency as a data analyst, previous employment within a government entity or non-profit organization, experience within a regulatory context, practice in an academic context relevant to competition or consumer protection law, or supervising or managing staff in a professional context.
To excel, you will demonstrate the ability to research, investigate, and analyze competition issues, engage, support, and work collaboratively with others, plan, organize, and prioritize a demanding workload, supervise, develop, and invest in your team.
Tertiary qualifications in economics, law, data, or similar fields are highly regarded.
Salary: $123,702 - $136,900 (plus 15.4% superannuation).
