Permanent part‐time (0.2 FTE) Laboratory Technician position commencing Term 2, 2026.
Responsibilities
* Provide support to teaching staff with routine chemical and equipment preparation and construction of simple apparatus for science classes.
* Order supplies, equipment and manage stock levels.
* Perform basic repairs and maintenance on laboratory equipment.
* Construct teaching aids as required.
* Label, maintain and safely store laboratory chemicals, equipment and resources.
* Disposal of chemical, physical and biological laboratory materials in accordance with safety and legislative requirements.
* Work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and exceptional organisational skills.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in an education science laboratory setting is desirable.
* Strong organisational and time‐management skills.
* Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
* Knowledge of laboratory techniques and relevant safety and legislative requirements.
* Basic proficiency with computers, including databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
