Job Description
Austate Services is a family-owned business with over 30 years of experience in the manufacturing and fabrication of high-quality road transport equipment. We specialise in the custom manufacture of Truck Bodies and Trailers and in the repair and restoration of heavy vehicles in addition to Sales and Servicing. Our trailers are manufactured from raw steel for use on road highways.
We have full-time roles available for Welders/Fabricators/Pressure Welders who will provide metal trade skills and competencies associated with construction and maintenance requirements of Austate Services. The position will operate from within the workshop and assist with the manufacture and repairs of truck bodies and trailers. Key Skills:
- Trade Certificate (111 or higher) is desirable
- Experience in metal construction, fabrication or maintenance of road transport equipment is a necessity
- TIG/MIG welding skills and experience is a necessity
- Sheetmetal Cutting experience
- CNC operator skills/experience (would be an advantage)
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Ability to read shop drawings/engineers plans
- Speak and understand fluent English is a necessity
Key Activities (but not limited to):
- Undertake aluminium & metal trade construction, fabrication & maintenance
- Upkeep of metal trades workshop area and associated tools and equipment
- Maintain equipment & machinery to a safe and good working condition
- Compliance to all OHS requirements
- Adherence to company quality standards
Workshop hours are 7.00 am - 3.00 pm. Overtime available - overseas applicants need not apply Pay Rate: $70,000 - $75,000 per annum We are located in the easily accessible suburb of Minto which is a 20-minute walk from the nearest train station.
We are 3 minutes away off the Hume Highway. Try your hand in manufacturing locally made semi-trailers. Learn new skills with on-the-job training provided.
