The organisation is in a period of active growth, including through acquisition. Communications plays a critical role in supporting people through change, ensuring clarity, consistency and confidence as new businesses integrate into the broader group.
The Opportunity
This is a global internal communications role, based in Australia, with a very practical purpose. The organisation is growing through acquisition, and this role exists to bring structure, consistency and pace to M&A and integration communications across regions.
Initially offered as a six-month contract, the role focuses on two core outcomes:
1. Building a central, reusable suite of M&A and integration communications assets that can be applied globally, and
2. Supporting a live acquisition in Queensland with hands-on integration communications delivery.
You will work closely with senior communications leaders globally, while operating with a high level of autonomy locally. This is a delivery-focused role suited to someone who is comfortable stepping into complexity, creating order quickly, and supporting people through periods of change.
Position Purpose
To design, coordinate and deliver clear, consistent and practical communications that support successful acquisitions and integrations, while reducing duplication and improving global capability over time.
* Build a central repository of M&A and integration communications assets for global use
* Create repeatable templates, playbooks, guidance documents and messaging frameworks
* Support a live acquisition in Australia with hands-on internal communications delivery
* Develop leadership messages, FAQs, intranet content and change communications
* Define and manage internal engagement activity such as roadshows and townhalls
* Coordinate written, visual and video content production with specialist teams
* Partner with internal communications, marketing and external communications teams globally
* Act as a connector between global strategy and local execution
* Measure communications effectiveness and refine approaches based on feedback
* Provide calm, practical communications support during periods of organisational change
About You
* Demonstrated experience supporting M&A and integration communications, with an understanding of how clear, timely messaging supports people through change
* Strong internal communications or change communications capability, with confidence engaging diverse employee groups
* The ability to operate effectively in live acquisition environments where priorities can evolve quickly
* Excellent writing skills, particularly for leadership, employee and change-related communications
* Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams at once
* Comfort working autonomously across time zones and within a global, matrix organisation
* High EQ and the ability to influence, collaborate and build trust without formal authority
* A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset, with the flexibility to adapt approaches in complex environments
* Experience working in contract or fixed-term roles, with comfort stepping into ambiguity and delivering outcomes quickly
* Patience, resilience and professionalism when navigating large, global organisations and layered decision-making
Additional Details
* There may be limited travel within Australia as part of this role
* Depending on project demand and upcoming acquisitions, there is potential for an extension beyond the initial six-month term
* Industry background is flexible. Experience in engineering, construction or infrastructure is helpful but not essential. What matters most is your ability to apply M&A communications principles effectively, regardless of sector
