We're seeking an experienced and motivated Town Planner to support our certification services across Queensland. If you're a proactive planner who enjoys working across diverse projects and jurisdictions, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
This full-time position plays a key role in supporting our building certification services by providing expert planning advice and managing development applications across Queensland. You'll work closely with certifiers, clients, councils, and consultants to deliver efficient and compliant outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare, lodge and manage Development Applications across Queensland
* Coordinate and manage referral agency applications (including SARA)
* Prepare planning reports, assessments, and supporting documentation
* Provide advice on planning legislation, zoning, overlays, and compliance requirements
* Liaise with local councils, state agencies, consultants, and clients
* Undertake planning due diligence and site assessments
* Support certifiers with planning-related matters and approval pathways
* Monitor changes in planning legislation and policies

What We're Looking For:
* Tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Urban Planning or related discipline
* Demonstrated experience in statutory planning (QLD experience highly regarded)
* Strong knowledge of the Planning Act 2016 and local planning schemes
* Excellent report writing and communication skills
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
* Proactive and solutions-focused approach
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
