Halcyon Proteins manufactures a range of liquid and powder specialty food ingredients for the local and export markets. An Australian owned and operated company since 1946 located in Dandenong is looking for a Laboratory Technician.
Hours of work: 8am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
We are looking for applicants who are enthusiastic, self‑motivated individuals, capable of working with minimum supervision and able to prioritise tasks effectively.
The Role
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the position involves the following tasks:
Key Responsibilities
* Chemical analysis & microbiological sampling
* Monitoring in‑process manufacturing processes
* Clearance of raw materials and finished goods
* Monitoring and testing incoming raw materials
* Final product analysis against specification (COA)
* Maintaining and managing manufacturing records
* General technical paperwork
Qualifications and Skills
* Qualifications in Science or Food Technology are desirable
* Experience and training in food safety and HACCP
* Knowledge of the SQF & Food Standards Code
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent computer skills
* Problem solving
* Experience in a laboratory environment and in food manufacturing (desirable)
Full training will be provided which will see you develop multifunctional skills across the quality and laboratory fields.
