The Role
We are seeking a motivated Commis Chef to work closely with the Head Chef and a skilled kitchen team. This role suits someone with experience in fast‑paced café, restaurant, function, or event environments who is passionate about delivering high‑quality food. Both full‑time and casual positions are available.
Key Skills and Attributes
* Attention to Detail: Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain correct portion sizes
* Teamwork: Works well within a kitchen team to ensure efficient daily operations
* Hygiene & Safety: Upholds high standards of cleanliness and follows safe food‑handling practices
* Adaptability: Willingness to learn new skills and work across different kitchen sections in a busy environment
* Following Instructions: Able to take direction from senior chefs and execute tasks correctly
Requirements for Success
* Minimum of 1 year experience working as a chef
* Availability to work five days per week across a seven‑day roster
* Experience in high‑volume production kitchens
* Relevant chef qualifications or equivalent trade experience
* Flexible, positive attitude with strong communication and customer service skills
* High standards of personal presentation and grooming
