The Opportunity
Join our transport team as an MC Driver operating a regular long-haul run between Mount Gambier and Melbourne, with a pre-load stop in Portland. This is a consistent, well-structured route covering approximately 900km return each day.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, you'll be part of a business that values safety, reliability, and professional drivers, offering competitive trip-based pay plus additional incentives for load restraint tasks. If you're an experienced MC driver who enjoys long-distance work and the occasional overnight in the truck, this is a great opportunity to secure a steady run with a supportive team behind you.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate Multi-Combination (MC) vehicles on daily return trips between Mount Gambier and Melbourne
* Complete a pre-load stop in Portland, ensuring safe and efficient loading
* Perform load restraint duties in line with safety and compliance standards (with incentives available)
* Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to maintain fleet safety and reliability
* Maintain accurate electronic work diaries and comply with fatigue management requirements
* Follow all NHVR guidelines and road transport legislation
* Communicate effectively with dispatch, logistics teams, and site personnel
* Maintain a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and customer service
About You
* Current Australian MC licence
* Proven experience operating MC vehicles, ideally on regional or long-haul routes
* Strong understanding of load restraint and chain-of-responsibility requirements
* Clean driving record and commitment to safe driving practices
* Knowledge of NHVR fatigue management and work diary regulations
* Physically capable of completing load restraint tasks safely
* Comfortable with long driving hours and occasional overnight stays in the truck
* Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently while staying connected with the team
* BFM accreditation
