King of the Hills (KOTH) is the flagship operation of Vault Minerals Limited and one of the largest gold mines in Australia. After a significant expansion, KOTH now features a 5.2 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) processing plant, providing a solid platform for long-term production growth. This dynamic operation combines open-pit and underground mining, with exciting exploration activities driving the future. KOTH is located approximately 900 km northeast of Perth and 25 km north of Leonora, within the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.
Reporting to the OSH&T Manager, the primary function of the Site Trainer & Assessor position is to deliver hands on, in the field training to Process Plant and wider site operational personnel (in line with relevant SOP's and industry standards and legislative requirements) and accurately record skill qualifications to ensure all personnel are competent in their assigned roles. This role will also ensure onboarding processes are complied with, procedures reflect current practices, isolation documentation is accurate and operational methods undertaken are consistent across crews.
The position will be offered on either an 8:6 roster as FIFO from Perth
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
* Ensure all training undertaken is provided in a safe and efficient manner, inclusive of Inductions, site Job Procedures, JHA's and Take 5's, to drive a proactive and relevant safety culture.
* Develop and/or maintain SOPs within the processing plant that are easily understood, striving for best practice to achieve operational consistency with highly skilled operators. Where discrepancies exist in techniques vs procedures, assess for best practice, confirm change, and enact as required. This will also double as a learning opportunity for trainees in iterative optimisation and safety improvements.
* Conduct fixed plant training and assessments for site personnel with the aim of consistent operational techniques across trained personnel, reducing variability of area outputs.
* Coach, mentor, assess & monitor the work performance of Processing team personnel and provide feedback as required to Shift Supervisors and foremen.
* Ensure integrity of training records and matrices are maintained, including documenting time allocated to specific Operational personnel, enabling monthly charting of time allocations per trainee.
About You
* Experienced Processing trainer minimum 5 years' experience as Trainer Assessor
* Previous experience in Processing Operations as operator or higher, preferably gold.
* Sound knowledge of AQTF standards, VET and current legislative requirements.
* Proven experience with one or more Learning Management Systems, like INS, SuccessFactors, Moodle or similar
* Good demonstrable skills in Microsoft Suite software especially PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
* Well versed in small machinery operations such as IT Loader, Loader, skid steer, excavator with national ticket preferred, not essential.
* Assorted High risk work licences for LF, EWP essential.
* Experience with isolating both mobile equipment and fixed plant.
* Presentation skills to perform classroom-based training and support meetings when required.
* Proactive safety culture is essential to support the growing needs of the business.
* WA Driver's License (manual C Class)
