Heavy Vehicle Technician - Townsville
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Technician to join our team in Townsville. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality workmanship in the servicing, inspection, repair and maintenance of Commonwealth-owned combat vehicles.
The ideal candidate will have experience working on heavy defence vehicles, including the Abrams Main Battle Tank, ASLAV, and M88A2. They will also possess strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of combat vehicles.
* Repair and replace damaged or worn-out parts.
* Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
* Work collaboratively with other technicians and supervisors to achieve project goals.
* Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A recognised trade qualification in diesel mechanics or a related field.
* Experience working on heavy defence vehicles, particularly the Abrams Main Battle Tank, ASLAV, and M88A2.
* Strong technical skills and knowledge of mechanical systems.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
* Effective communication and teamwork skills.
