About the role
In the role of Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a dynamic team of professionals in the development of all aspects of dam and hydropower engineering projects. This role emphasizes the importance of mentoring junior team members and maintaining oversight of their workloads to ensure project success. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on the development of sustainable water and energy solutions in Queensland. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are passionate about leading teams and driving project success.
Responsibilities
* Support the Group Leader with monitoring and reporting on the performance of the team.
* Work with partner Team Leaders (TLs) locally and in other regions to drive collaboration and work sharing across the BC.
* Be responsible for the health and safety performance within the team, including the monitoring of leading and lagging indicators.
* Be responsible for the team's talent management lifecycle including recruitment suggestions, career development, employee engagement, succession planning, coaching and mentoring, diversity and inclusion, and leadership development.
* Foster a success‐oriented environment within the team by displaying collaborative behaviours and exerting measured and balanced influence.
* Promote a happy, supportive, and inclusive culture aligned with the core values to support the strategic intent of the business.
* Be responsible for team utilisation by effective forecasting, networking, business development and delegation and development of backlog.
* Ensure all team members have a clear path towards their relevant Chartered Status and any professional registration requirements, where appropriate.
Success Criteria
* Relevant tertiary qualification.
* A minimum 5 years' professional work experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
* Ability to foster and grow a collaborative spirit between staff working within the region, BC and across the broader Stantec service lines.
* To be committed to working in the office at least 3 days per week to be a visible leader supporting the development of a strong team culture.
* A broad range of skills covering people management, business development and project delivery.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive relationships with the team as well as internal and external clients.
* Highly developed consulting skills to liaise with clients and other stakeholders to achieve mutually successful project outcomes.
* Well‐developed problem‐solving and negotiation skills to resolve queries.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Structural) with CPEng/RPEQ or eligibility to obtain it.
