General Manager – Lead, Shape, and Grow a Business Like It’s Your Own

As we enter a new phase of growth, we’re seeking a passionate General Manager to lead the charge. This is the closest thing to running your own business—without the financial risk. What you’ll be doing:
* Overseeing day-to-day operations with a focus on efficiency, performance, and culture
* Managing and supporting a small but capable team
* Developing and executing strategic initiatives that drive growth and profitability
* Reactivating dormant revenue streams and identifying new business opportunities
* Exploring and launching new divisions or service lines
* Generating clear, insightful reports for the directors to support decision-making
* Acting as the key point of contact between staff, stakeholders, and the leadership team

Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven experience in a General Manager or senior operations role, ideally within the trades, construction, HVAC, or service-based industries
* Strong business acumen with a track record of driving growth, profitability, and operational efficiency
* Experience leading and developing small to mid-sized teams
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives
* Familiarity with P&L responsibility, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to directors
* Solid understanding of sales, customer service, and project delivery cycles
* Experience with revitalising or growing business units or launching new divisions
* Tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Operations, or a related field are desirable but not essential—real-world leadership experience is key
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):
* Experience working in or managing family-owned or founder-led businesses
* Knowledge of or exposure to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry
* Comfortable using business software and systems (e.g., CRM, accounting software, job tracking platforms)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills—able to work well with directors, clients, and on-the-ground staff
