About the Opportunity

To help us achieve this we are looking for an Investigations Project Officer to undertake investigation and preliminary design to assist in the provision of civil engineering, planning and design services and provide advice for the strategic development of Port Macquarie Hastings Council's transport, stormwater and overland flood assets. The successful applicant will be confident in their work, have a high attention to detail and be able to structure their workload in order to meet deadlines. The successful applicant will also need to have a collaborative and resilient nature.
On a typical day, this role will:
1. Undertake investigations into complex requests relating to traffic, transport, stormwater and overland flooding assets and issues by undertaking site inspections and research.
2. Assist in developing recommendations for traffic, transport, stormwater and overland flooding solutions in relation to customer enquiries, development applications, customer enquiries, and strategic planning initiatives and projects.
3. Collaborate with Council's technical subject matter experts and stakeholder relations team to determine solutions to traffic transport, stormwater and overland flooding related issues/problems raised by the community.
4. Provision of technical advice and guidance to maintenance and construction teams regarding traffic, transport stormwater and overland flooding issues as they arise.
5. Undertake technical assessments for transport, stormwater, water and sewer and drainage asset planning and management and provide technical support for Stakeholder Relations and Asset Engineers including Section 138 and Land Access and Activity Notice (LANs) assessments; applications for works within the road reserve.
6. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding Council’s infrastructure requirements.
Remuneration and Benefits
Employment Type: Full Time, 35 hours per week
Salary (exclusive of super): In the range of $86,843.64 to $94, 377.60 depending on skills and experience.
