Senior Financial Accountant | 6-Month Contract | Brisbane Northside
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an industry-leading business as a Senior Financial Accountant for a 6-month fixed-term contract, with potential for extension. This role offers a competitive rate, flexible working options, and the chance to contribute to a high-performing finance team within a large, complex organisation.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a hands-on, visible role within the finance team, delivering accurate financial reporting, compliance, and commercial insights.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading month-end close and producing timely, accurate financial reports
Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and transactional outputs
Managing tax compliance schedules, including BAS, FBT, PAYG, and payroll tax
Supporting statutory reporting, audits, and year-end processes
Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and driving process improvements
About You
You are a technically strong, detail-oriented accountant who thrives in a fast-paced commercial environment. You bring a proactive, solution-focused approach, excellent stakeholder communication skills, and a strong understanding of accounting compliance.
Key Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Accounting (CA/CPA or working towards)
Multiple years experience as a Financial Accountant or Senior Financial Accountant in medium to large organisations
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory reporting and compliance
Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
