Job Title: Safety Manager
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Safety Manager to coordinate workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and compliance for our organization in Cape York. The successful candidate will ensure we meet our obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 while fostering a strong safety culture across all departments.
Main Responsibilities:
* Coordinate workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and compliance
* Provide practical support and advice to staff
* Investigate incidents
* Deliver training
* Maintain WHS registers and audits
* Guide our organization in implementing risk management strategies
Requirements:
* Diploma-level qualification in Work Health and Safety (minimum)
* Minimum 3 years' experience in WHS roles
* Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and ability to apply it in Local Government
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills
* Current C Class Driver's Licence and White Card
* Ability to obtain a Blue Card and pass a Police Check
