Finance / HR Manager Hobart | $80K–$90K Super Searson Buck are proud to partner with a well-established Tasmanian trade services business to recruit a hands-on Finance / HR Manager, focused on financial operations, reporting, compliance, and people support. Operating in a fast-paced, collaborative, high-volume environment, this stable business continues to grow and is seeking a capable professional to strengthen controls and take ownership of both core finance and HR functions. The Role Reporting into senior leadership and supported by an Assistant, this role will focus on delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust controls, and supporting day-to-day HR operations. Financial / Technical Maintenance of general ledger and reconciliations Oversight of payroll, BAS, and statutory compliance End-of-month and year-end processes Ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data within Xero Operational Management of AP/AR processes Cash flow monitoring and basic forecasting High-volume transaction processing oversight Maintaining and improving financial controls and procedures Supporting audit requirements and documentation HR / People & Compliance Assist with recruitment processes, including advertising, screening, and onboarding Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with Fair Work and other relevant legislation Provide advice to managers on employee relations matters, policies, and procedures, working alongside external technical consultants Assist with payroll-related HR matters, including leave management and contract variations Drive and maintain HR policies, procedures, and quality and safety accreditations Support a positive workplace culture and employee engagement initiatives Stakeholder / Business Support Liaising with internal teams to ensure accurate cost allocation Supporting leadership with routine financial reporting Acting as a key point of contact for finance and HR-related queries Working closely with external accountants, advisors, and HR/IR consultants About You Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Senior Accountant role Exposure to HR responsibilities or a willingness to take on HR duties Background in construction, trades, or a high-volume service environment (preferred) Strong understanding of financial controls, compliance, and reporting Experience using Xero (preferred) Comfortable in a hands-on role within a busy, operational business Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines Why This Role?
