With a focus on quality, innovation, and customer service, they rely on a skilled maintenance team to keep operations running smoothly across their Gippsland sites.About the RoleOur client is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join their team based in Newry, servicing and maintaining their farm machinery and equipment across their three farms in Gippsland (Newry, Avon and Busy Park). Working alongside a team of five, including oversight of a 3rd year apprentice, you will play a key role in keeping production moving. Full time hours are offered, with the potential for overtime. Shifts are Monday to Saturday, operating on a rotating roster of 4am to 1pm or 7am to 4pm.Key ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for:• Planning, coordinating and carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance• Diagnosing and repairing farm machinery and equipment• Managing general repairs and maintenance of equipment and facilities• Assisting with installation, relocation, and machine upgrades• Ensuring compliance with OH&S regulations• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activitiesSkills and ExperienceThe ideal candidate will bring a proactive, hands-on approach and the following skills and experience:• Trade-qualified Diesel or Tractor Mechanic• Sound technical skillset across a variety of engineering competencies such as Welding and Fabrication• A solid understanding of maintenance techniques, with the ability to troubleshoot issues, identify the root cause, and find effective solutions.• Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail• Excellent problem-solving skills and decision-making ability• Current driver’s licence and own vehicle• Computer literacy and strong communication skills (written and verbal)• Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing demands• Self-motivated, and a positive attitude• Ability to work independently and as part of a team• Availability to work an on-call weekend roster when requiredBenefits• Be part of a supportive workplace that values your contributions, with a staff rewards program that recognises your hard work• Ongoing training and development opportunities• Long term job security with a successful, fast-growing and innovative agribusinessHow to apply?All applications must be submitted via the GBS Recruitment website - www.gbsrecruitment.com.au (Job No. 903593) and include a current resume and cover letter outlining your experience.
