Yumbah Port Lincoln (YPL) grow Greenlip Abalone at our Point Boston farming operations which consist of a Hatchery, Nursery and Grow Out areas.
About the Role
The role of Grow Out Technician reports to the Operations Manager and is based at our Point Boston farm sites. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar aquaculture environment, possess a proactive attitude and have an eye for detail. This is a casual, ongoing position with training provided and an opportunity to become a permanent team member.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform stock husbandry duties, including cleaning, feeding, and moving stock to ensure optimal animal welfare.
* Record and maintain operational and production data accurately.
* Operate mechanical equipment such as grading machines, preparing products for market or transport, and undertaking general maintenance tasks as required.
* Ensure compliance with all Yumbah policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
* Identify and report hazards.
* Wear and maintain all Personal Protective Equipment
* Participate actively in farm meetings, trials, initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
* Maintain a clean, organised and efficient work environment.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to foster a positive and productive team culture.
Qualifications/Skills
* Experience in a similar environment preferred.
* Good level of physical fitness.
* Sound communication and time management skills.
* Able to work well as part of a team.
