Opal Fibre Packaging provides a full service offering in corrugated cardboard box packaging from design and product testing through to supply chain integration. 
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrician to join the team at our site in Launceston in the afternoon shift. 
You will contribute to the success of Opal by: 
Use of trade skills to provide a quality and timely maintenance service. 
Actively participate in the development, promotion, implementation and compliance to all Company's Health Safety & Environment strategy and policies 
Playing a key role within a team focused on the development and execution of efficient preventative maintenance and continuous improvement practices on the site using SAP. 
Provide technical support, problem solving and continuous improvement to support production and other maintenance and engineering initiatives. 
Participate in improvement plans across the commercial team around reporting improvements, standardisation across the region and budget/forecasting process enhancements. 
Daily task reporting and organisation of external contractors & services 
Be apart of projects for the factory; to implement upgrades to equipment/ machinery. 
Identification and communication of electrical equipment and parts to the procurement team.

Specifically for this role, we expect you will have; 
Hold a current Electrical Practitioner Licence (TAS) 
Be a motivated, self-starter; with a professional attitude 
Opal's first and foremost value is safety, therefore a strong personal safety ethic is required 
The ability to work on a rotating roster for Saturday coverage 
The ability to work autonomously in environments with time constraints 
Understanding of maintenance work planning and scheduling procedures 
Experience and understanding of electrical systems to analyse, troubleshoot and solve problems which may include but not limited to: 
SCADA systems 
AC and DC motors 
Safety interlocks and controls 
Variable speed drives 
Read and understand electrical drawings. 
Pneumatics and Hydraulic systems 
Skills/Knowledge in JSEA, Risk Assessments, Working Permits, LOTO.
