We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling and withdrawal management services). About the Role

We are seeking a values-driven person to join our successful Canberra Recovery Hub (CRH) Day Program Team in the exciting role of AOD Case Worker. The role will provide effective support to participants accessing CRH as part of the CRH Team, by ensuring a safe and structured environment is maintained in accordance with TSA guidelines, within a participant led recovery-based service. CRH operates in Braddon with the team office based within the Fyshwick Residential Centre in Canberra, ACT. This is a permanent full-time role. Salary is in accordance with SCHADS Level 4.

How you will make an impact

- Provide relief cover on a casual basis across CRS and CRH programs
- Deliver day‑to‑day service through education, interventions, group work, assessment, referral, and case work
- Develop and monitor individual treatment plans, maintaining accurate case documentation and reporting
- Provide risk management and safety planning, linking participants to specialist services where appropriate
- Deliver case management with individualised recovery‑focused care plans addressing substance use and related behaviours
- Collaborate with Canberra Health Services (CHS) DASL Case Managers to ensure therapeutic alignment and coordinated care
- Maintain strong knowledge of referral and support options for participants
- Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation, and service performance indicators
- Attend team meetings, including Clinical Review and Integrated Governance meetings
- Demonstrate a supportive, participant‑focused approach always

What you will bring

- Minimum Diploma qualification in AOD, Community Services, Case Management, or related discipline
- Completion of 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willingness to complete during employment)
- Understanding of issues faced by people experiencing AOD, gambling, mental ill health, and other disabilities
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
- Ability to critically reflect on practice and tailor programs to participant needs
- Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities
- Robust skills in managing unpredictable behaviours using de‑escalation techniques
- Computer literacy; experience with MS Teams and SharePoint desirable
- Knowledge of WHS obligations and ability to apply them in practice
- Current National Police Check and Driver’s Licence required
