About the Role
Based in Forest Glen, QLD, the Estimator will play an integral role within the QLD sales team. This role is well supported by a high-performing team of Estimators and Sales professionals and will require you to focus on understanding the customer needs, quoting, and supporting close of the sale. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will generate accurate quotes for custom‐made products and secure orders from both current and prospective clients.
Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting commercial construction plans to accurately estimate the type and quantity of doors required in the project.
- Identifying conflicting specifications between architectural plans and door/finishing schedules.
- Providing advice to customers on best options on fit for purpose doors that also matches their needs.
- Actioning inbound leads, customer RFI and RFQ's without letting any major opportunities fall through the cracks.
- Contributing to achieving sales targets by working with the BDM to meticulously follow up quotes and close sales.
- Maintaining a close, regular & professional working relationship with existing & prospective customers to maximise SpenceDoor Group market share.
- Delivering excellence in customer service.
- Keeping CRM up to date.
- Attending Sales Meetings, Training Sessions and other industry events as required.
About you
To be effective in this role, you must have some technical aptitude (you can read plans and understand how things come together) particularly in the construction environment. We are also seeking a real go-getter. Someone with energy, passion and experience in solution-based selling. Someone that is proactive and confident to speak to customers in a B2B environment. You must have a positive outlook, be enthusiastic and energetic. You must be geared to find solutions for customers and add value to the selling process.
Qualifications
- 2 years+ estimating experience.
- Basic understanding of construction materials, preferably in respect to the supply of frames – pressed metal, timber jambs, cavity sliding. Doors – Timber, fire rated, acoustic etc.
- Ability to understand and determine information from plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to confidently communicate with management, clients, specifiers, and subcontractors.
- Strong attention to detail and sound skills in the use of windows suite of tools.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent planning, time management and prioritisation skills.
- Previous experience in Manufacturing and Sales will be highly regarded.
