Overview
Solo Resource Recovery is a family‐owned and operated business supplying waste removal and recycling services throughout Australia for over 90 years. An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Human Resources Officer to join our team. This full‐time position is based at our Head Office in Chinderah, Northern NSW and works within a team of three HR staff supporting a company‐wide workforce of 850+ employees across four states.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will perform tasks such as:
* Processing role or remuneration changes for staff
* Processing Annual Award increases
* Assisting with performance management and review processes
* Preparing and reviewing Position Descriptions
* Supporting the company's foreign recruitment processes
* Monitoring agency staff engagement
* Coordinating termination of staff while adhering to legal and industrial relations obligations
* Providing support and advice to supervisors and managers on disciplinary matters, dispute resolution, and grievance handling in line with industrial regulations
* Assisting the HR Manager with Fair Work claims
* Developing training and development programmes for staff
* Identifying and applying continuous improvement to HR functions
* Recruitment processes including advertising, medical review, and onboarding of employees
* Off‐boarding employees on resignation or dismissal
* Preparing employment contracts and other employee documentation
* Performing other general HR duties as required
Qualifications
* At least two (2) years experience in a similar HR role
* Strong collaboration, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
* Solid understanding of awards and industrial relations legislation
* High proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
* Tact and professionalism when dealing with confidential information and employee concerns
* Friendly, team‐focused attitude
* Attention to detail and high accuracy
* Ability to work to tight deadlines
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
