This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a multi-disciplinary, trauma-informed team in Alice Springs, NT. You will have the chance to provide legal advice and representation, appear in courts and tribunals, and collaborate with local organisations to drive systemic change.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert legal advice and representation in areas including family law, domestic violence, tenancy, and employment
* Appear in courts and tribunals, including duty lawyer work
* Collaborate with a trauma-informed team to deliver comprehensive support services
* Participate in community outreach and deliver legal education to promote awareness and understanding
* Build partnerships with local organisations to contribute to law reform projects
* Maintain accurate legal files and contribute to internal training and professional development
What You'll Need:
* Eligible for a Practising Certificate in the Northern Territory
* Minimum 2 years post-admission experience in an Australian legal practice
* Ability to work with diverse communities, including First Nations people
* Strong grasp of civil law matters, especially domestic and family violence
* Strong communication skills and a commitment to social justice
