About Flying Bark Productions
Flying Bark Productions is a dynamic and innovative animation studio dedicated to pushing the boundaries of character animation and storytelling, working on projects such as Avatar: The Last Airbender feature film, Netflix's Ghostbusters animated series, Stranger Things animated series, and the upcoming Zac Power feature film.
Role Overview
As a CG Lighting Artist, you will work closely with compositors and creative leads to achieve the creative brief set out by the VFX Supervisor, using the provided tools and software to deliver the high quality visual style of the production.
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum requirement of 4+ years production experience in 3D animated films and/or animated episodic.
* Portfolio with graphic stylisation of reality preferred, in the vein of Spiderverse, Entergalactic, Arcane and The Witness (Love, Death, Robots).
* Experience lighting and rendering with Arnold using Katana.
* Experience in Nuke to create a pre‐composite tree that combines rendered elements.
* Ability to maintain consistency of lighting across all shots.
* Ability to optimize and troubleshoot lighting and rendering problems in a fast‐paced environment.
* Ability to work closely with the compositors to bring shots from lighting through to final while maintaining timing and production quotas given by the production coordinators.
* Ability to successfully take and interpret a creative brief, whether a verbal or visual brief.
* Ability to work within a team and maintain good team dynamics.
* Ability to problem‐solve and predict potential problems with assigned tasks.
* Ability to self‐manage and complete tasks within production deadlines.
* Communicate and seek information when necessary.
* Be adaptable, flexible and responsive to changes.
