Project Coordinator - Tank Engineering
The role of a Project Coordinator in Tank Engineering is pivotal to the successful planning and execution of high-quality projects. As part of a collaborative team, you will play a key role in ensuring that project objectives are met.
About This Role
* You will lead the coordination of project plans, scope, and readiness stages, while providing technical support to a portfolio of projects and tank turnarounds.
* Coordinate accurate cost estimations for labour, materials, subcontracts, and equipment, ensuring compliance with our procurement policy.
* Liaise with design engineers to ensure engineering is fit for purpose and aligned with scope requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop detailed project plans, scope, and execution readiness following strict timelines and milestones.
2. Compile accurate cost estimations for labour, materials, subcontracts, and equipment.
3. Coordinate procurement and subcontract packages, ensuring compliance with our Procurement Policy.
4. Conduct risk assessment workshops and support quality assurance processes such as Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
5. Prepare clear work packs for execution.
6. Provide technical resolutions for design/site challenges and manage engineering changes throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Liaise with in-house and external design engineers to ensure engineering is fit for purpose and aligned with scope requirements.
8. Monitor and control project budgets, forecasts, and expenditures, collaborating closely with the Cost Controller.
9. Assess subcontractor performance and ensure accuracy in payment claims, variations, and progress reports.
10. Compile as-built documentation and support project close-out processes, including vendor documentation and quality deliverables.
Requirements
* A Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification/experience.
* Proven experience in delivering brownfield projects, turnarounds, or maintenance activities within heavy industry environments.
* Applied knowledge of Quality Systems.
* Experience with above-ground storage tanks in line with API standards (preferred).
* Strong project management and problem-solving abilities.
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
