Ground Engineering Estimator

The Rix Group QLD is expanding and seeking an experienced Estimator to join our ground engineering team. This role suits a commercially focused professional who enjoys working across complex civil and geotechnical projects.
About the Role
You will prepare accurate and competitive tenders across a broad range of ground engineering works, working closely with Operations, Engineering, and Senior Management to deliver commercially sound and technically compliant submissions.
Key Responsibilities
* Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors
* Develop methodologies for civil works, shotcrete, soil nails, ground anchors, slope stabilisation, piling, retaining structures, and ground improvement
* Conduct site inspections and liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
* Prepare tender submissions, clarifications, and supporting documentation
* Assist with handover to project delivery teams
About You
* Minimum 5 years’ estimating experience in civil, ground engineering, or geotechnical works
* Strong understanding of construction methodologies, productivity rates, and costs
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical reports
* High attention to detail with strong commercial awareness
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
