The Role
The Team Leader Parks is responsible for the daily coordination of a small work team that undertakes the maintenance and development of parks, gardens, reserves and other horticultural assets, including playgrounds, street and park furniture and fencing across the Singleton Local Government Area.
Key responsibilities include:
* Plan and programme works and organise the necessary resources to undertake programmed and reactive park maintenance duties
* Liaise with the Parks Management Officer on a regular basis regarding quality matters associated with current and future improvement to operational procedures
* Develop and implement maintenance schedules and maintain registers associated with duties such as mowing and chemical application
Essential to this role is a Certificate III in Horticulture or related field with experience in the implementation and delivery of parks management programs complemented by the demonstrated ability to work with and manage small teams.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret drawings and plans would be advantageous in this role, however not essential.
This position is offered on a permanent full-time basis working 76 hours per fortnight on a team-based 9-day fortnight. There is a requirement to participate in the on-call roster.
Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 9 of Council's salary system Protocol which equates to a base salary of $78,343 - $88,125 per annum, plus 12% superannuation and other relevant allowances.
